Help Build a Legacy
A legacy is a gift of property; a bequest. It is anything handed down from the past, or kept safe for the benefit of one’s children.
The Continental Divide Trail (CDT) stretches across the backbone of the country. The Trail is a fixture of the American landscape, welcoming us, our children and their children to experience it.
The Alliance is committed to see the CDT through to its full completion, to its last charted mile, and to the continued care of this great natural wonder for future generations.
The Continental Divide Trail Alliance relies heavily on contributions and sponsorships from many individuals, governing bodies and companies across the nation in support of this effort. Organizations such as REI, JanSport, Vasque, Vibram, Coleman, Great Outdoors Colorado, Gates Family Foundation, the National Forest Foundation and the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, just to name a few, have made it possible for the CDTA to produce volunteer recruitment drives; hold awareness-building conferences; lead advocacy at local, state and national levels; and perform maintenance and construction projects along the CDT.
Projects which need your help include:
- Trail construction and maintenance
- Trailhead construction
- Bridge construction
- Land purchases
- Volunteer recruitment and training
- Youth programs
- Membership development
- Education and awareness materials and programs
