CDTA’s 2010 Wishlist

Field and Volunteer Programs

  • 20 CDTA staff baseball caps to wear at volunteer projects, in the field, and at events
  • 4WD or AWD vehicle to use for field and volunteer projects
  • Vehicle for CDTA meetings with partners and federal agencies
  • Non-perishable food or gift cards for volunteer project meals
  • Beer, wine and sodas for volunteer projects and special events
  • Quad maps of the CDT or areas near the CDT
  • Clean and accessible storage facility in a central location in NM and MT for crew chef, adopters and crew leader equipment
  • 20 GPS units for doing Trail scouting and location in the field with volunteers
  • Storage Bins
  • Pressure washer and/or air compressor to clean gear
  • Volunteer cooking program equipment such as:
    a. Backpacking Dutch Ovens
    b. One Cabela’s 36 cup percolator
    c. Large pots and various size sauce pans w/ lids
    d. Sturdy folding tables
    e. Two dutch ovens
    f. Two large Action Packer storage containers
    g. Two mixing bowl sets with lids
    h. Two 5-10 gallon water cans
    i. Wooden spoons and long handled spoons
    j. Four Large cutting boards
    k. Two Cambro’s for coffee and hot water
    l. Oven mitts and dish towels
    m. Two large colanders

  • Two Laptops for volunteer field staff and trail meetings and presentations along the Trail
  • One computer GIS server for Trail mapping
  • One Digital Video Camera for data collection

  • Video editing software such as Final Cut Pro
  • Mini USB memory sticks

  • Website services
  • Public relations services and donated advertising to increase awareness
  • Satellite phones or prepaid cell phones for CDTA staff to use while on volunteer projects.
