Every month we’ll feature a new question!

September’s Question is from Zachary of Hudson, Wisconsin. He asks, “Do Elk only live in Rocky Mountain National Park?”

Ranger Jeff says:

“Elk like areas where there is space and wide open country for them to roam. Elk prefer areas where there not are lots of people or human activity. Most elk in the United States are found in the Rocky Mountains such as Rocky Mountain National Park, but there are some elk herds that live in eastern states like Pennsylvania and Michigan.”
